Helping professionals who spend their time attending to others’ needs are at high risk of stress and burnout.
This experiential workshop teaches the physiology of stress and impact of compassion fatigue.
Through creative exercises, participants are provided opportunities to assess their own symptoms and early warning signs and examine what’s getting in the way of self-care.
Participants will explore how to best take care of their own personal and professional needs.
Helpful tools to promote calm, balance and joy are offered based on current research on well-being, including the neuroscience of gratitude and happiness.
Therapeutic Art Activities for Groups
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the benefits of using art in a group setting.
Preparing for groups, engaging with imagery, and safety with materials is covered.
Participants will learn and practice over 10 group therapeutic art directives to put into practice immediately, including building group rapport, improving self-regulation, expressing feelings and developing identity.
Creative Interventions for Trauma
This hands-on workshop educates and engages participants in the benefits of using art therapy and mindfulness as an effective treatment for trauma.
Participants will identify how creativity impacts neurobiology and explore and practice creative interventions based on self-regulation, expressing internal experience and building self-empowerment.
Creative Interventions for Children and Adolescents
In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the benefits of using art as an effective treatment approach for children.
Preparing for sessions and engaging with imagery and materials is covered.
Case studies, including slides of clients' art, are used to demonstrate how to apply interventions.
Participants will learn and practice over 10 art therapy directives to put into practice immediately.
