It can be hard to have your negative thoughts or feelings hijack the present moment, robbing you of the chance to feel joy or be connected. 

Mindfulness-based interventions allow you to practice focusing your attention on the present moment in a way that brings compassion and acceptance to your thoughts. This practice offers a pause from where you can make choices with clarity and insight. 

I use breathing exercises and guided imagery in sessions, when appropriate. 

Guided imagery is a powerful technique that focuses and directs the imagination. I may guide you to imagine a calm place or a visit to your inner advisor. 

Studies have found when you visualize an imagined scene or experience, your brain reacts as if it were actually happening.  Guided imagery is highly effective in addressing stress and anxiety.
